On Saturday, June 21, 2014, the Baltimore Streetcar Museum's NJT #26 made a short appearance on the Museum's right-of-way on its own power, albeit briefly.  Ed Amrhein, Mark Hurley, John La Costa (as Dispatcher), Justin Thillman and your writer were on hand at the Museum to make a trial run of the car.

Before moving the car,
Justin rewired the motors so that the car went forward with the reverser in the "forward position." The plan was to test braking capabilities.  About 8:40 A.M., all was ready.

Lights are on. We are ready to go. Justin was the operator.
Car #26 stops at Glen Edwards Avenue.
We moved out slowly, checking to see if the dynamic brakes were functioning.
Justine seemed to think they were not. As we passed the loop switch, Ed and
 Justine heard something pop. Something was burning, so Justine coasted to
 Glen Edwards Avenue thus ending the first powered trip of #26 at 8:45 AM.
Mark Hurley is at car #1164's controls and Ed Amrhein checks clearance.
Ed, Mark and Justin decided to get car #1164 and push the car around the 28th
Street Loop so that the car would be facing south for further work in the car
 barn. Car #1164 was up to the task and pushed NJT #26 to 28th Street and back to
 track #3 for future work.  Mark Hurley took control of 1164; Ed Amhrein
supervised; Justin rode #26 on its first round trip,
and I acted as conductor on #1164 and took photos.
The next 2 photos show #26 rounding the curves at 28th St. loop. It was now 9:01 A.M.
Ed checks clearances.
Ed watches carefully as 1164 pushes #26 back to track 1.
John had aligned the switches for us.
Justin checks clearances. 

Justin is also watching #1164 as it rounds the curves to be sure that #1164 did not derail.
Mark kept a steady hand on the controller applying constant power to insure no
 lifting to the maximum traction truck. Car #1164 performed like a champ.
